Clark Planetarium and KUED partner for reading marathon

Talia Butler

spacerKUED is once again inviting children pre-school through 6th grade to participate in the 18th Annual Reading Marathon from November 15 through December 6, 2010.  This statewide challenge encourages kids and their families to spend quality kued-button-kids-fronttime reading. Participants may read alone, read to someone else or be read to by another person.  Clark Planetarium would like to encourage families who are taking part of the challenge to visit Planet Fun Clark Planetarium Store and browse the selection books for readers of all ages.  Picture 018

Once your child has completed the marathon, they will be invited to a special Super Reader Party in January. This year,  Clark Planetarium will be partnering with Thanksgiving Point to feature hands-on activities, giveaways and learning opportunities in our booth.  Thousands of readers show up for the Super Reader party to win prizes, participate in activities and meet popular PBS characters.  This program is a great tool for encouraging healthy reading habits and Clark Planetarium is proud to be a partner again this year.

If you are interested in participating, visit  KUED’s website for additional information on kick off parties and the program.  Visit our Planet Fun Store in The Gateway at 110 S 400 W in Salt Lake City.
