How to ship a rover…?

How would you ship a billion dollars worth of hardware?

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory made a sequence of videos demonstrating the difficulty of getting to Mars. We wanted to share them with you in anticipation of the Mars Science Laboratory’s “Curiosity” rover landing that is scheduled to happen late in the evening on Sunday, August 5.

In this video, watch the rover be packed up at its birthplace in Pasadena, California and shipped to the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

I don’t think I’ve ever moved anything this expensive.

Stay tuned, we’ll post additional video’s about The Challenges of Getting to Mars over the next 3-weeks.
