Celebrate International Animation Day with Clark Planetarium

Amy Oliver

IAD2015-newsletterDid you know? Clark Planetarium has our very own team of animators! They make many of the presentations and light shows that play in the Hansen Dome Theatre that you have come to love, like Accidental Astronauts and Led Zeppelin.

But that’s not all. Our animators work on other projects, too, like some of the animated exhibits in the planetarium.

Join us to celebrate their work and this creative arts career on International Animation Day.

Date: Wednesday, October 28th, 2015
Time: 4:00pm – 6:45pm
Where: Clark Planetarium
Cost: FREE!

We’ll be doing some pretty cool demonstrations of how animation worked in the past and how it works today. You’ll also get a chance to make and take home your own mini zoetrope and other cool animation toys, watch our animators in action and even meet them, and you’ll get a chance to try out the prototype of a new Clark Planetarium exhibit that our animators have been working on.

Clark Planetarium productions will be playing in the Hansen Dome Theatre all day long and we’re even slipping in a special showing of Rock on Demand so you can check out a new song and scene that our animators recently added to the show!*

We can’t wait to see you there!

*please note: Entry to Clark Planetarium and activities for International Animation Day are free but shows in the Hansen Dome Theatre do have a per ticket entry fee.

  1. Is this event free? I’m a bit confused because it says:
*please note: Entry to the Hansen Dome Theatre does have a per ticket cost

  2. Hi Stefanie. Thanks for your question! We’ve clarified on the blog that the event and activities are free. Shows in the Hansen Dome Theatre have a cost per ticket entry fee.
